Michael A. Hopwood President & CEO, Founder
Michael
Hopwood is the CEO and co-founder of Platte River Systems (PRS).
He is a seasoned executive experienced in many aspects of corporate
management including sales/marketing, channel development, business
development and acquisitions, with a special interest in Information
Technology as it relates to global information networking.
In the role of President and CEO for Platte River Systems, Mr. Hopwood
is chiefly responsible for setting the company direction as well as
managing the day-to-day company operation.
Prior to being appointed CEO of PRS, Mr. Hopwood was vice president of
worldwide sales & business development for PLX Technology, Inc. a semiconductor company specializing in
I/O interconnect technology. Mr. Hopwood had been with the company for 16+ years
and played a key roll in helping the company grow from a start-up to IPO, to a
major player in the I/O interconnect market. Mr. Hopwood has also
managed engineering departments including field/application engineering, and
systems validation. For eight years Mr. Hopwood lead the IT/MIS
group at PLX and helped develop what is widely regarded as the best
collaborative sales information tool in use.
Previous to PLX, Mr. Hopwood spent 5 years at Intel
Corporation in the sales organization. Mr. Hopwood founded Teton Computing,
Inc. a statistical software company and GHI International, Inc. a sports
equipment marketing firm.
Mr. Hopwood has a B.S. in
Physics/Engineering from Pacific Lutheran University
Gregory

Greg Hopwood is a founder of Platte River
Systems (PRS). He is responsible for the engineering of the software
systems that form the basis of PRS services and is a PRS board member.
After earning his B.A. in Mathematics at
University of California Irvine (UCI), he worked his way through grad
school on an NSF scholarship by working in the Computer Facility,
teaching undergraduate computer science courses, and working full-time
at a local computer manufacturer while writing his dissertation. He was
awarded his Ph.D. in Information and Computer Science (1978) from
University California, Irvine, specializing in software systems design.

Most recently, the Design
Information Tracking System (DTS), a large database-driven extranet
application built in-house at PLX Technology, Inc. His experiences
during five years building and refining the DTS system for PLX led
directly to the establishment of PRS.
He has also served in non-development
management roles for computer companies as Director of Advanced Systems
Marketing (Gould Computer Systems), Director of Technical Sales Support
(Gould Computer Systems), Vice President of Marketing (Ardent Computer),
and Vice President and General Manager of European Operations (Kubota
Graphics).
He brings
a wealth of knowledge, skill, leadership, and real-world experience to
PRS.
